Method
Mix the dough:
- Mix the yeast into the warm milk and sugar or honey and let sit for 10 mins. The mixture should "bloom" and look bubbly.
- In a kitchen aid with the dough hook, mix the egg, melted butter, salt, and yeast mixture. Gradually add in the flour. Let it knead on medium speed in the mixer for about 10 mins. You can knead by hand for a few minutes as well.
First Proof:
- Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover, and let proof for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shaping and second proof:
- Once doubled in size, press the extra air out of the dough. Place on the counter and divide into 12 balls. Stretch the sides of the dough out and then use the counter to roll into roll shape. Place the rolls into a greased pan, cover, and let proof for 30 more mins.
Bake and serve:
- Bake the rolls at 375 for 13-15 mins or until golden brown on the top. Brush with melted butter and serve warm!
